I’m finally to Season 3. #SimpsonsDVDMarathon
The Smiths - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out
Fantastic Four #89 by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby
Since today would have been Jack Kirby’s 95th birthday, I’d like to ask you all to think about making a donation to the Hero Initiative in his honor. If you’ve enjoyed this blog, or The King’s work in general, please help give back to the men and women who’ve given us so much entertainment like him.
Post form one year ago, still what you should do today.
Today would have been Jack Kirby’s birthday, were he still with us.
I kind of turn into a blithering idiot when I talk about Jack, so I’ll be careful. I get very emotional about him and his work even though I didn’t know him personally, or even respond to his art until I was an adult. When faced with the challenge of setting up this composition, I felt unequal to the task of drawing what Jack would draw, so I did what my four-year-old nephew would call “Drawing Energy.” Jack Kirby seems to stand for a lot, these days, but let’s all try to remember he was a human being with a family and a life too.
So, happy birthday, Jack Kirby. Thanks for comics.
The Summerween Trickster is very scary so I gave Dipper some backup!
The backup is Superman!
Much as Dipper enlisted a super-friend to help, I enlisted the aid of my super-friend, jordangibson to color this joker!
Hope you like it!
